What homeowners usually want to know before scheduling service.
Do you charge for the estimate?
No. The estimate is always free. We come out, look at the door, and give you a price. If you decide not to move forward, there's no trip fee and no invoice. That's just how Swain Garage Doors works.
How accurate are the "from" prices on the table?
They're realistic starting points for standard residential configurations. We always recommend replacing springs in pairs: when one breaks, the other is typically near the end of its life too. Pair replacement with high-cycle springs starts at $499. Single spring replacement is available but not something we push; you'd likely be back within months for the second one. If your door is taller, uses heavier springs, or needs additional hardware, the price reflects that. Either way you get the exact number before we start.
Can the price change after work starts?
It can only change with your approval. If we open up a door and discover something additional that needs to be addressed, we stop, tell you what we found, and give you a new number. Work on that item doesn't start until you say yes.
Another company quoted me significantly more. Why the difference?
A few reasons. Some companies quote worst-case scenarios and then "find" that not everything needs to be replaced. Some add markup layers that don't exist in an owner operated company. And some companies lead with upsells rather than diagnosis. If you've gotten a quote that seems high, we'll give you a second opinion at no charge.
Do you offer any guarantees on the work?
Yes. Parts come with manufacturer warranties and labor is warranted as well. If something we installed or repaired fails due to workmanship, we come back and handle it. Call the same number and we handle it.
Why do you post your prices when most garage door companies won't?
Because most of them can't. Their pricing depends on what they think they can get out of you that day. Ours doesn't. We post ranges because we're confident in them, and because you deserve to know the ballpark before anyone shows up at your house. You'll still get a full breakdown before any work starts, but you won't walk in blind.
